FRATERNITY HISTORY

Founded on November 7, 1907 at the School of Commerce, Accounts, and Finance at New York University, Delta Sigma Pi's four founders set out to create an organization with the sole purpose of assisting its brothers

in succeeding within the world of business. Together, Henry Albert Tienken, Harold Valentine Jacobs, Alfred Moysello, and Alexander Frank Makay set the foundation for an all-inclusive, co-ed business fraternity that now has over 285,000 initiated brothers across the world and over 220 active collegiate chapters across the nation.

ABOUT SIGMA PHI CHAPTER

In 2011, the Sigma Phi Chapter's founding members, Tiffany Ho and Jessa Ursabia, were introduced to one of the Fraternity's national officers who was looking to start a chapter of Delta Sigma Pi at Chapman University. On November 16, 2011, the members sent in a formal petition to establish a colony at Chapman, and the Epsilon Kappa Omicron Colony was officially established on December 1, 2011.

Following the establishment of the Colony, the members, over the course of 2012, worked tirelessly to recruit interested individuals and complete petition requirements that would eventually make up their official petition book. Under the Alpha Class brothers, the petition book was eventually completed over the summer of 2013 and by fall of that same year, the Epsilon Kappa Omicron Colony was finally prepared to begin the pledging process.

On October 5, 2013, after a month of intensive pledging, the Alpha Class was solidified with a total of 32 Brothers, and the Sigma Phi Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi was finally initiated.

PURPOSE

Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities;

to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.

BROTHERHOOD

Just like any other fraternity, our Brothers create lifelong friendships and truly exemplify the meaning of "Brotherhood." Unlike other fraternities, Delta Sigma Pi teaches our Brothers how to network effectively, forging bonds within and outside of the Sigma Phi Chapter to grow a flourishing professional network while establishing everlasting experiences.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Our Brothers recognize that the community has helped each of us in one way or another and as such, give back to community to help others in the same way.
